Our dogs are a complete source of joy.
They protect us, amuse us, adore us. They are LOVE. We cannot say enough good things about our Great Pyrenees and Maremma livestock guardians. Their fiercely protective nature is tempered by their huge heart and gentle touch. Our Westie-Bichon mix is our "personal dog", small enough to accompany us wherever we go, and wonderful company at all times. She is an awesome hunter of all things rodent. Our little rat terrier is new to the homestead. She has a beautifully sunny personality, and her tail never stops a-waggin'. We are hopeful that she will soon help with the never-ending rodent control. We have always supported pet rescue, and once fostered 17 rescued hound dogs over a period of 2 years. Our rescued boxer is a testament to his breed, and every day, he thanks us for being a part of our family. Rescued pets always give back beyond what we provide. |

B&L Homestead Supports Pet Rescues
Two of our favorite rescues that serve Northern Arizona are:
Blackhat Humane Society - these dedicated, tireless folks work to save animals on the vast Navajo Reservation, traveling through the Four Corners region to wherever they are needed. Visit their website to learn more: www.blackhathumanesociety.org.
United Animal Friends - based in Prescott, Arizona, this rescue group works with high kill shelters throughout the southwest to bring in animals in danger of euthanasia. They find foster homes - and permanent homes - for the lucky animals that they take in. Please visit their website at: www.unitedanimalfriends.org
